This ‘environmental disaster tourism’, which will be the first ever leisure cruise through the Northwest Passage, is for those wealthy few who wish to witness the effects of climate change first-hand.

Tickets for the 13-deck ship Crystal Serenity, run by Crystal Cruises, will cost between $20,000 and $44,000.

The 32-day holiday for a thousand prosperous customers will feature whales, walruses but “no guarantee” – says the company – of spotting a polar bear.
