Wow… Do they bomb fires in America.

Five bombing runs on a Califorian bush fire within minutes.

Nearby – over the next hill – a two acre brush fire broke out.

Thankfully it was quickly contained yesterday afternoon in Mission Canyon, where we live.

The fire, about one mile away, was accidentally caused by a weed whacker.

At 14:26 Santa Barbara County Fire crews responded after receiving reports of smoke scene from downtown Santa Barbara.

They were assisted by the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, Montecito Fire Protection, and the U.S. Forest Service.

Well within minutes they were bomb running the fire with pink retardant.

Fire Captain David Zaniboni said crews were quickly on scene and were able to get a hose around the fire to keep it at two acres.

An air tanker was diverted from the Pine Fire to make a few drops as well, said Zaniboni.

“The fire was caused by a worker in the area using a weed whacker,” said Zaniboni.
